Custom Spot UV Greeting Cards (Specialty Greeting Cards)
Custom Spot UV Greeting Cards
Spot UV greeting cards combine a smooth matte laminated surface with selectively applied clear gloss for a distinctive visual and tactile finish. The contrast between the laminated background and glossy Spot UV areas can be used to highlight logos, typography, patterns and other important design elements.
These custom greeting cards begin with 14pt card stock and an additional 2pt laminated layer. Slightly raised clear Spot UV is then applied to selected areas of the artwork, creating both shine and texture.
14pt Stock + 2pt Lamination
Spot UV greeting cards are produced on 14pt card stock with an additional 2pt matte laminated layer. The smooth laminated surface provides a contrasting background for the selectively applied clear gloss.
Clear Spot UV Printing
Clear Spot UV is applied only to selected areas of the greeting card, allowing specific parts of the design to stand out against the surrounding matte surface.
Spot UV can be especially noticeable on darker backgrounds, where the clear gloss creates stronger visual contrast.
Slightly Raised Spot UV
The clear Spot UV is slightly raised from the laminated surface, adding a tactile element as well as glossy visual contrast.
This makes selected design elements noticeable both visually and by touch, particularly when used against darker artwork or large matte areas.
Why Choose Spot UV Greeting Cards?
Spot UV greeting cards are a strong choice when specific parts of a design need extra emphasis without adding metallic colour. Clear gloss can be used to highlight logos, text, patterns or decorative elements while the surrounding card retains its smooth matte finish.
The combination of laminated card stock, slightly raised clear gloss and matte-to-gloss contrast gives these premium greeting cards a distinctive visual and tactile character for invitations, announcements, holiday cards, thank-you cards and branded communications.
